Salute to the Fallen ...... 5 Friday Findings!!!!!

Updated: Jun 1, 2021

Memorial Day is about remembering the men and women who have died in military service, but war creates other voids. One of the worst may be the experience of returning from war: being here but there, seen but not understood, the same but changed. It means a lot to serve and return, to carry the weight of lost friends, and bear the burden of being left to remember. The job is not for everyone and I pray for those lost, returned, and those heading down range. Let us all be grateful for those who make the decision to sacrifice not only life, but serving. Serving requires putting others first, time missing heartfelt moments, seeing things that no one person should. However, it can be very rewarding with the skills taught, friendships forged, learning new cultures, and seeing new places. Lord if my twins ever decide to put on the American Flag as a uniform please prepare, protect, and persevere their paths.

1. Twin A: Here, Dad, hold these. *pulls sunglasses from his underwear*

Me: Bewildered look .. There are no pockets. Resourceful!

2. Good night hand, Good night toe, Good night nose, good night every noun I know!! Twins at bedtime

3. I talk a lot of #$%^ for someone who dances to my kid’s music and still laughs when they fart

4. Told the twins this week no you can’t have ice cream for breakfast. After about 5 minutes of crying, we all compromised and ate ice cream for breakfast

5. The twins are so considerate. Each ask me to put my phone down or water bottle BEFORE using my spleen as a trampoline so that it won’t fall or spill on the floor
