Look No Further On Why Race Relations Suck!
For years white people for some reason have looked upon other humans that do not look like them and automatically decided to take from them, degrade them, and belive the "white" color to be superior. Makes me sad to be white at times, but never sad to be me, Mark Warren. Due to knowing what I coach, teach, exemplify, and even what the Lord calls us all to do. Love they neighbor as thyself.
Over 500 treaties existed at one point between the U.S. government and Native American people, according to the “American Indians Truth” program in July 2015. Yet, the federal government broke every single one. Now is the time that the Washington DC football team breaks a treaty on a controversial nickname.
1: The word “Redskin” has had negative racial connotations since the 19th century and is viewed by countless Native Americans in the same light as the “N-word.” As an organization they are no longer able to stand in front of employees and express that they value diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment, when the official nickname is endorsed as the "Redskins."
2: So here are s how you propose changing the moniker to owner Daniel Snyder: No visible or tangible land exists in the District of Columbia. FedEx Field resides in Landover, MD and we all the team desires to function in the nation’s diverse capital. The DC United compete at AUDi Field, circa 2018. Thus, RFK Memorial Stadium is no longer in use. Therefore, if we embrace a name change the National Park Service who owns RFK Memorial Stadium should agree to sell the land to the team. The site would be home to a new stadium, located just 2 miles from Capitol Hill, offering fans a centralized location to attend games in a new, innovative, and affordable stadium based on a wholistic fan experience!
3: As an organization and fan standpoint, all are fully aware of the connection that fans attach to a team. This is sensitive and important to many people who may have spent copious amounts of money throughout the years on the nickname established. Ultimately, sports are phenomena diverting norms and entertainment. As such an easy way to continue providing the fan base with continued success the moniker shouod be: Washington FC! Under this Nickname (Washington Football Club) it would provide a club inclusive to all.
Changing the NFL franchise's name won't settle well with diehard fans, nor will it reverse American history. Nevertheless, there's no excuse for continuing a treaty that commercializes a racial slur.
