My Wedding Vows. Honest Vows

April 22nd 2017… Dear Lord Help Us ALL!!!

Today is mostly an ordinary day… Except I asked you to marry me and you said ok!

Which makes you utterly crazy right?

I most likely drink too much, watch too many sports, am a neat freak, not always the most sensitive person nor patient and honestly don’t care what people think of me. In the words of Marilyn Monroe I am madness, absolutely ridiculous but never boring. Each day will likely test your limits and I will invade every boundary you ever put up.

Therefore all I can do is Thank God and your parents for raising such a woman I never knew existed. This journey has been remarkable. Most relationships are artificial built upon false hopes, where the sole purpose lies in one making the other happy. We all know that is childish, its not butterflies or drawn out phone calls, heck I hate talking on the dag-gum phone. True happiness comes from within: with respect, loyalty, and trust to one another, not what the other can do for you.

For that reason I refuse not to vow false hopes. Instead I’ll try real vows.

I vow at times to fail you and fall short but I won’t give up. I vow that Hollywood gimmicks "you complete me/I can’t live without" are sugar coated BS. You compliment me, make me stronger, and reinforce me to be a better man. My completeness is in Christ I have already been made complete and he is my eternal happiness...

The not-so ordinary part is the promises we will make for the rest of our days, no matter how ordinary or unusual they may seem.

So I promise to you:

to always laugh with you-tickle you-annoy you-cook for you-remind you how beautiful you are-send you work selfies- to wrestle with Gurley-love Blanca a bit more than everyone else-never stop dating you-pray with you constantly-and most importantly to never go to bed angry.

To comfort you in times of sorrow, including rough Cardinals, Tar Heels,Bulldogs, Panthers,Rams and Blues seasons. To always make you think I am listening to what you have to say, and to even be there when you cry like a baby.

But most of all, I promise to love you, under any circumstance; happy or sad, easy or difficult. I hope one day I can love the way you show love. You have opened my heart in ways I never imagined.

Just as John Wooden once said: You can’t live a perfect day until you do something for someone who will never be able to repay you. With this ring take it as a piece of me trying my best and never forget = Today and always you are you! Which is my BEST FRIEND This is truer than true! There is no one alive who is of a better wife than you!
