Copy of 5 Friday Finds!!!!! Title State!!

Writer: Mark WarrenMark Warren

Coaching is a mission field to put Christ at the forefront and you teach to the heart of your players. This has been my motto this season. What a season it has been, my mom passed away in the middle of it, my wife and I at one point were down to one vehicle then neither of our vehicles. Yet, through praise, prayer, and worship we weathered the storms and find ourselves in the State Championship! You know what is even better? Facing a team that won it last year and rides a 38 game win streak. I love it because my God is capable of anything and that is where my trust resides. There are no other kids I would want to be on this adventure with and I am lucky to have them all back next season for another journey. This year has reminded me of a few things that have been taught and picked-up along the way, and in return should be passed down to others, especially my twins.

  • Confidence - a conviction about God's goodness in your life and His intentions for your future.

  • Motivation is what gets you started, habits is what keeps you going. Just stick with it. What seems so hard now will one day be your warm up!!

  • Great leaders are almost always great simplifiers who can cut through an argument, debate and doubt to offer a solution the team can buy into.

  • Dedication sees dreams come true.

  • Once you know what having nothing feels like, determination chases success. (This was the driving force behind your dad leaving a trailer park and giving you the life you deserve.)

  • The crazy thing is that I wound up learning more about the world and things around me by having a fiery focus inside of me.

  • The topic of leadership is a touchy one. A lot of leaders fail because they don’t have the gull to touch a nerve or strike a chord or be in an uncomfortable situation or to put others in a situation out of their comfort zone. Throughout the years, I haven’t had that fear.

  • Winning is not a marathon; it is a sprint with no finish line. ~ Kobe Bryant

  1. One thing they don’t tell you about being a dad is how much of your life will be spent sitting in the car waiting to pick up Twins….Oh wait only one is walking out……………………………………………..There is the other one!!

  2. The Twins told me I’m too old to enter their fort last night so for the next hour I constructed the world’s best blanket fort and only those 35 and above are welcome!!

  3. It’s cool that twins run around like circus monkeys all morning & then turn into sloths on melatonin when it’s time to get shoes & coats on!!

  4. Debating on buying an ice cream truck that plays catchy music but driving it around selling all the lost items left at local schools!!

  5. I had no idea how much I would need the skills learned in my high school debate class until I had Twins who want to argue daily about why they don't need to wear a coat in the morning to school!!
