The first day of Fall and the first SoCon Road-trip!! The Southern Conference, which celebrated its 100th season of intercollegiate competition in 2020-21, is a national leader in emphasizing the development of the student-athlete and in helping to build lifelong leaders and role models. From establishing the first postseason college basketball tournament (1921), to tackling the issue of freshman eligibility (1922), to developing women’s championships (1984), to becoming the first conference to install the 3-point goal in basketball with Western Carolina University alum Ronnie Carr making the first ever NCAA 3-point basket on Nov. 29, 1980, the SoCon has been a pioneer. Dad’s conference is the nation’s fifth-oldest NCAA Division I collegiate athletic association after the Big Ten (1896), the Missouri Valley (1907), the Pac-12 (1915) and the Southwestern Athletic (1920) conferences are older in terms of origination. What is not old? The joy of being a Twin-Dad and watching you display such fun personalities. Thank you for the following 5 finds this week…..
1. Both of the twins are pitching a detective series where every single episode ends with the reveal that the other one did it!! The suspense is real!!
2. Fun-sized candy wrappers- rocks- melted stickers- coins- zero lint
~Twin-dads describing the contents of their dryer filter after a cycle of toddler clothes\
3. Found out the secret to life this week: the twins will do everything I ask if I pretend they are a video game character and point a controller at them!! Winning!!
4. Tee Ball has such a high risk of injury. The other day, at the twins’ game, I crushed my finger folding up a camping chair. Dad problems!!
5. Asked a Co-Worker before a meeting early this week, "Do you need to go Potty before we start?" Now I need to find a new job!!
