This coming fall I have been asked to get back on the bench as a basketball coach. It is not that hard to get me back there as I always have that itch! It is just takes a big time commitment. However, I love pouring into young men and as an administrator I do not get to pour into student athletes as much as I would appreciate doing so. Thus, Christmas will change once again as we play in tournaments around the holiday. Pre-season through playoffs schedule will be jam-packed and we won't be traveling between October-April like we have been for multiple sports. Most of all I look forward to seeing my family back in the stands watching basketball as I coach. Just as much as I enjoy each Friday Find throughout the week.....
1. Bluey referenced “mitochondria” and I immediately said to the twins “the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell” like a sleeper agent who just heard their activation phrase!!
2. I’m sorry, but owning a pet and being a twin parent are not the same. Your lizard did not spell poop with toothpaste on the mirror and your dog did not squirt ketchup in his brother’s hair and say it’s a dipping bowl!!
3. Be warned that if you buy twin 5-year-olds a watch, you are going to get minute by minute and second by second updates on what the current time is!!
4. Me, before children: “I will raise my children to be well-adjusted, accomplished student-athletes who are kind, thoughtful leaders with a passion for trying new foods, experiences, and building meaningful relationships.” Me, as a parent: “I will raise twins. That’s it.!!”
5. Watching Tee-Ball be like: kid on 1st building a sandcastle, kid on 2nd doing cartwheels, kid on 3rd blowing kisses to his mom!!
