Don't you love the things kids say? Their funny comments show us how they perceive the world. They are still learning and often do not always get the entire picture which makes for some outstanding one- liners as well as stories. Consequently, the twins had zero hesitation telling-on me to Gram Gram right as we walked in the door to visit her in Missouri: “Gram Gram the policeman gave Dad a ticket today. He told him to slow down.” Look I am 37 years old, and my mother scolded me like I had stolen candy from the General Store. You know better and there are laws to follow for safety. My apologies for being eager to end a 12-hour trip with twins by myself!! Nonetheless, I would do it all over again for many reasons beginning with the fact that these boys only road trips are super fun! We stay in hotels, swim-eat-workout-and explore cities-universities-state and national parks!! More than anything we see not only beloved Poppa Craig-Gram Gram-but the coaches and mentors that played a vital role in my life who are still significant today like Dave Daniel-Coach Burnett-and Coach Johnson. All of whom received UGA gear!! Thank you for the fun memories of this past week and thank you Lord for keeping us safe in our travels!! See you all in November!! Kids really do say the darndest things and that is why we always are blessed with 5 Friday Finds…..
1. I told the twins to stop playing grab @$$ while on the trip, so apparently my transition into my high school coaches is now complete. Also, the twins just made up a game called grab ass!!
2. Suggested to the twins that they order grilled nuggets at Chik-Fil-A, and judging by the look on their faces, I will be hearing from their lawyers!!
3. Me: It’s important to tell your parents everything!!
Twins: when mommy woke up this morning she looked 100 years old.
Me: whatever you do don’t tell her that!! Oh and don't tell Gram-Gram I got a ticket!!
4. People were able to defend the Alamo for 13 days. The twins wake up at 545 and by 6 we were eating cheesecake for breakfast!!
5. I’m an exhausted Twin-dad on a road trip alone!! You might remember me from such hits as “No, absolutely not. Never in a million years!!” and its sequel “Okay, fine!!”
