November 12, 1958 is one of my favorite days of the year. The day your Gram Gram, my mother, was born. To say she is my hero is an understatement. She is someone who went through 12 foster homes, worked multiple jobs, taught me what demanding respect, loyalty, and being close to God looks like. Gram Gram is the driving force behind chasing my dreams, seeing the world, and providing your mom and both of you a fun, rewarding, and remarkable life. Not only did she teach me that we would make it out of poverty she taught me to accept others for who they are and how to be comfortable being myself. Thank you for everything Momma. You were the one who put me in every sport to have mentors and neither of us would have thought athletics would take me around the world and open doors to so many opportunities. The only drawback is the commitment it takes and how it impacts not visiting Missouri as much as we would like. Yet the dedication you showed from starting as a bus driver and working your way up to Family Advocate Coordinator for OACAC Head Start for nearly 30 years is the driving force that I chase my dreams and I know you understand it. Everywhere I go and the way I interact with alumni, fans, and players is the result of you being the best mother a son could wish for. We love you Gram Gram!! All of us hope you find the following 5 twin finds this week funny…..
1. Parenting is a delicate balancing act where you need to teach your kids numbers but not well enough that they’re able to tell the time when you send them to bed early!!
2. Why would I pay for a haunted house when I can just walk through mine after the twins are home all day with mom!!
3. It’s so rude of my wife to not clip my twins’ nails, which have scratched both of us!!
4. This week the Twins asked to play dodgeball & it dawned on me that the inventor of dodgeball was indeed a parent who was like, "Payback time, #$%^&"
5. Yesterday the Twins called the butter shelf in the fridge "The Dairy Penthouse" and there is no other name for it now!!
