Defend the cause of the Fatherless - ISAIAH 1:17
Something that has been close to my heart for years is helping children who have absent fathers. Most likely because of my own childhood. Thus, I could not be more excited to have our local church partner with, Father's in the Field, to begin a chapter in our community. Fathers in the Field, a 501c3 charitable organization founded on the biblical directive to “Defend the cause of the fatherless…”
The organization’s mission is, “To rekindle and establish the spirit of boys who have been abandoned by their fathers; mentoring them one-on-one in life skills through outdoor activities, and by sharing a Christian understanding of our Heavenly Father’s love and sacrifice for His children.”
Fathers in the Field’s outreach addresses the unfortunate consequences of father's choose to not be present and boys suffer abandonment wounds due to disengagement, lacking mentors, divorce, and broken homes. Our county that we reside in has a 45.6% single parent household. A program like this is much needed and I am excited to be working on how we can make it thrive in the coming months. Check out their website before checking out this week's 5 Friday Finds..... https://www.fathersinthefield.com/
1. Adding hostage negotiator to my CV if I have to talk twins down from one more pet idea!!
2. There should be a product swap booth on the way into Costco, you can bring the massive package of snacks that twins used to like and exchange it for the huge box of snacks that some other twin has rejected!!
3. Twins acting shocked there’s ants in mom’s car like they’re not Hansel and Gretel leaving @^%$#& crumb trails!!
4. The Giving Tree except it’s twins and a wife asking for bites of my white chocolate cheesecake and now I have nothing for dessert!!
5. [452am] Twins [coming out of bedroom]: Is an orange named after the color or is the color named after the fruit?
Me [rubbing my temples]: it is way too early for this!!
