It is that time of year again. Where being competitive leads to Fitness-fitness all this food in my mouth, Carbo-loading, and left overs are for quitters. I love Thanksgiving for the gratitude it brings, the fellowship with family and friends, but most of all it brings my love language to center stage: Food! Breaking Bread is simple yet a powerful act: food builds a bond between people who don't see eye to eye like no other. Increasingly there are few spaces where strangers of completely different backgrounds—different ethnicities, different incomes, different races, different geography— can come together, intermingle, build relationships, and find common ground. However, food has the power to do such things. How often do you see travelers breaking bread and learning traditions in foreign countries? Ever looked at a tailgate on Saturday in the South and see how diverse they become as strangers walk by and eat or drink? Dinner is not an instantaneous solution to complex problems, of course, but having real conversations through the prism of cooking is a good place to start. What better way to start the weekend than avoiding Black Friday, heating up left overs, and being a positive in this world. We hope you have a great time breaking bread and hope you smile from these 5 finds the twins served up this week.....
1. Welcome to raising twins. Where both being too loud makes you crazy, but both being too silent makes you terrified!!
2. A true Thanksgiving dinner with family involves an exit strategy with my spouse and I leaving the kids behind as decoys!!
3. Twins: Sorry Gurley you can’t come to school with us. You would bark too much and the kids wouldn’t be able to hear the teacher.
Also Twins: You can’t come either, Momma. You talk too much!!
Me: hysterically laughing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Let's get married & have twins so instead of enjoying Thanksgiving dinner you can make sure no food touches on his plate while I microwave him a hotdog!!
5. This week the twins had "Family Thanksgiving" at the school cafeteria & I've never been more grateful for hand sanitizer!!
