The twins are consistently filled with energy, eyes beam with a glow, little legs bunny-hopping with excitement as they rattle off conversations with one another or with us. At times we share in lengthy discussions and others I am unable to quite make sense of the flow of chatter that accompanies all the enthusiasm. Your mom and I love listening to you and hearing the grand imaginations you possess. When you become a parent, you pick up the basics somewhat quickly. It is figuring out how to raise happy and confident children in a challenging society. What we try to do is encourage the twins in hopes it will boost their confidence and change their day for the better. However, one thing we have worked on most recently is listening. It has helped us see how they view life as 4-year-olds. It allows us to be more present and has fostered trust at an early age. Our prayer is that you will always feel comfortable telling us anything at any time. Just like the amusing 5 Friday Finds we learn as twin parents each week…..
1. As parents of toddlers, we learned it takes an advanced degree from Harvard to figure out kids’ shoe sizing?!!
2. Thoughts and prayers to the rival dad on our street who forgot to put out the recycling 2 days after Christmas!!
3. The twin’s FaceTime skills on Christmas Day with presents can be summed up as” running in a haunted movie shaking uncontrollably while screaming!!”
4. Started writing a book over the holiday break centered around asking twins to put their shoe on only once. I’ll let you know when it is finished and how many pages it ends up!!
5. One thing to know about parenting is that ice cream will resolve any issue. Just make sure you give your kids some too!!
