Green Bay, Wisconsin. Home to my cousin, home to the Green Bay Packers. Home to Lambeau Field!! What an experience that did not disappoint. At times anticipation leading up to an event deemed “exciting” can be better than the actual experience. Not Lambeau and not a Packers game. Lambeau Field is an enchanted sports destination. For years I hoped to visit and experience the beauty of a game at the historic stadium. Not only did I get to see the Packers but I saw them play in snow for a full Lambeau gauntlet. The result was an all-around magical day. There is so much to do at Lambeau on a home game-day. The history of coaches, winning the first Superbowl, and of course the payers, are all on display in and out of the stadium. There is a tribute to all of the armed forces and veterans in the plaza outside of Lambeau. Titletown is a true sports destination for fans that offers a wide variety of activities for all aged family members to get out and be active prior to kick-off. Let me tell you that the tailgating is second to none. (Let’s not forget I live, work, and tailgate in a SEC town). The entire town wants to know if you are attending your first Packers game. If so, every brat, beer, cheese curd, cheese head, and appreciation will be handed out to first-time goers for free. The hospitality is unmatched (unless of course you are a Bears or Vikings fan). Any sports fan who dreams of seeing a game in Lambeau should stop putting off that trip up to the Frozen Tundra.
Consequently, the St. Louis Rams were moved to Los Angeles. A town that I have zero desires to visit nor will visit again. The worst part is a fellow Missourian uprooted them. As a result, I have been “somewhat” of a free agent fan. Growing up never wanting to miss Brett Favre slinging the ball around Lambeau field and celebrating like a little kid on Christmas in the snow. Those memories embedded in me a love for the game and to eventually play the game. Add in the fact that the team is owned by the city of Green Bay and fans who purchase stocks along with the Georgia G being the exact same G for Green Bay, albeit different colors. It is safe to say I am a full-fledged Packers fan that headed home with gear for all of us. Icing on the cake is 3 former Georgia student-athletes currently play some big roles for the team as well. Therefore, GO Pack GO!! Go 5 Friday Finds Go…..
The problem with turning twins into professional tailgaters is they believe you should have that much food and eat that way at every meal now!!
I love that the twins annoy mom just as much as me. It’s how we SUPER bond!!
Random Person: “What type of workouts do you do since you have twins?” Me: [flashback to me doing the chasing, wrestling, squatting, lunging, bathing, feeding, crying, playing, screaming bedtime $%^& show with my twins every night for 3 hours] Me: "Triathlons mostly"
A twin asked me to bring home a Packers hoodie for him this Christmas, so for convenience and to save time I'm having it shipped directly to his school’s locker!!
At some point you’ll think you have this parenting thing figured out. Then your child will ask you to take the sauce off their pizza!! So, you only wanted bread with cheese?? Grilled cheese??
