5 Friday Finds!!!!!Candy Cane, Candy Saw, Candy Conquered!!

Every year at this time brings so much joy, excitement, and glee to the boys. Each holiday season I truly try to see Christmas through their eyes. When that feat is accomplished the result is simply magical. The way their eyes light up when they see anything Santa, their happiness driving around witnessing Christmas light displays, the eagerness to be the first one to turn on the Christmas tree lights each day, their enthusiasm to watch Christmas movies nightly, the abundant requests to listen to Christmas music, and the heartful thoughts asking if we have a gift for everyone we know. The joy in their hearts is something that overflows and can be felt. To see the holidays this year through their eyes gives a balanced perspective and joy amidst the tide of consumerism, the family squabbles, and the extra calories of the season!! Sure, it is cliche to say that we should all experience the world through a child’s eyes. But children really do have the best lens for looking at things. Mark 10:15 says, “Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” Maybe it is not cliché after all? Nonetheless, when you are raising twins, it’s tough not to be swayed by that cliche. Of course, these December days seem to go by slow as the sun goes down at what feels like 5pm each day. Which is why seeing the twins so happy, so excited by the holiday magic around them–and enjoying it all together- I can’t help but get a little swept up by it, too. Luckily, each week I get to unwrap Friday Finds as well. Hopefully, you will enjoy the following 5 wits bestowed upon me as I navigate being a twin-dad to fun boys each week.

1. A fun part of having your kids put together a Christmas wish list is realizing that you still want some of the things they want, like a jet pack!!

2. I see your baker’s dozen and raise you a dad’s dozen (That's 11 because one was ate when the twins weren’t looking!!)

3. Lower your expectations for a relaxing Holiday when you have Twins and multiple in-laws.

Lower.

Lower.

Looower.

Yes. Right there.

4. The twins may or may not have “Christmas list” and “prayer requests” mixed up!!

5.“Put on your pants.” “Get your hand out of your pants.” “What’s on your pants?” “Are those your pants?” “Those are not pants.” “Pick up your pants.” “Where are your pants?” —OMFG pants are why twin boy parents lose their $%^&!
