Welcome to the Sweet 16 and a few days later the Elite 8!!!!!!!! That had me thinking, should I write about the best mascots & nicknames in all of College basketball? Or pass down 16 pieces of life advice? Well, there are 352 D1 basketball teams. Therefore, it will take some time to research the best 4 and worst 4 mascots/nicknames. No promises that the worst 4 will not be bias either. Nonetheless, here are 16 pieces of advice for you my twins in honor of the best tournament known to man.................
1. You will always have problems. Learn to enjoy life while you solve them. God by your side if the real key
2. People dictate the future by their habits and their habits decide their future
3. In life you can only control two things: your effort and your attitude
4. Don't ask how to start. Begin, then ask how to improve
5. Happiness has less to do with pleasure and more to do with purpose.
6. Life is hard when you expect much from the world and little from yourself. Life is easier when you expect much from yourself and little from the world. High Standards, Low Expectations
8. Half your problems are just your mind making smaller things seem bigger things
9. Don't let yourself be controlled by three things: people, money or past experiences
10. Give thanks every day, because even if you think you have no reasons to give thanks, your "normal" day is someone else's dream
11. Be sincere and authentic everyday
12. Stay teachable
13. Happiness is a choice and not dependent on any outside factors
14. Winning is an attitude, and it stems from confidence in yourself. Which is derived from first accepting yourself without caring about opinions of others
15. Optimists take more chances and Courage is the willingness to attempt
16. Doing the right thing is never the wrong thing: Has Coach Ted Lasso said: Be a goldfish - Don't allow one bad play or deed define who you are. In less than ten seconds, forget about it like a goldfish
Finally thank you for the 5 fun finds you put into the playbook this week.....
You’re not really a parent until you wake up in the middle of the night to transfer clothes from the washer to the dryer, so your kids have something deliberate tow ear on whatever theme day you forgot about tomorrow!!
Twins and a group of friends playing is just called “WHY ARE YOU ALL SCREAMING” meeting!!
The twins asked me if we could change wake up to cake up and maybe more people would be happy in the morning. Now I think they are onto something!! Of course you would get a slice of cake upon CAKING UP!!
Parenting books don’t do enough to warn you about the fact that work lasts until 5, the bus gets home at 3:30, and practice starts at 4!!
The Twins called black pepper sneezoning and I believe they understand puns now!!
