The twins ardently stamped their approval on Thanksgiving this year. From insisting on helping in the kitchen all day, emphatically loving the food, and finally crashing a Friendsgiving at night to see Hadley!! Thanksgiving is a special holiday: a whole day focused on spending time with loved ones and being thankful, without much of the commercialism that has crept into many other holidays. Thanksgiving is so distinct with our family. As cliché as it might be, it is center around gratitude for us as well as Football & Basketball. Showing gratitude and taking time to truly appreciate all the blessings the Lord has bestowed on our lives amidst this crazy world is important to your mother and I and it’s one of the top values in our family. My hope is you pass it down to each of your families as well my sons.
P.S. You will not learn any cooking from your mom. In fact, she is only allowed to touch the keurig, toaster oven, and microwave. You can learn from me or my side of the family and a select few on your mom's side with my approval.
1. They may look like me, but they certainly have their mother’s listening skills.
2. If we are what we eat, I really need to figure out who keeps feeding the twins a daily dose of who’s the boss!!
3. What I say: "don’t do that you’ll get hurt"
What the twins hear: "prove to me you’re not a coward"
4. Parenting is mostly just making plans for little humans whose primary function is to thwart those plans.
5. Hi I’m a dad. You might know me from my top ten greatest hits:
“Go find your mom” “Don’t fart on your brother” “Why are there socks in the fridge?” “Honey can you change the diapers?” “They don’t make em like they use to” “What’s the damage” “I’ll give you something to cry about” “I will turn this car around” “you’re cruisin’ for a bruisin” “I brought you into this world and I will take you out” “$#@! or get off the pot”
