What is special about the 21st of January? It happens to be National Hug! I find that to be compelling since twinhood brings with it a mesmerizing connection. Twin parents understand it like no one else while the public is an open display. The way twins hug one another can in no way shape or form be duplicated. Your mother loves close intimate, tight, and often longer than should warm embraces from me. Up until you both were born; I was not one who hugged much. It was always the bro hug: half shake hand half pat on the back. Thank you for changing that! The word “hug” is believed to come from the word “hugga” meaning “to comfort” in the Old Norse language, first appearing approximately 450 years ago. We hug to greet friends and family, to say goodbye, or to congratulate someone. To console someone or to show support. Your father first saw men hug through sports as Gram Gram raised me as a single mom. Whether it was on TV or the coaches who were my mentors I would see friends and rivals bro-hug before competition. Again, I am profoundly grateful for the role sports played in my life. I am grateful for the best hugs I get when returning from traveling for work and competitions. I am grateful for your mom who is an amazing wife, mother and gives the second-best hugs behind you two. Never stop hugging one another! Clearly I am grateful for the fun and humorous 5 Friday Finds you give us as twins…..
1. Any parents find it funny toddlers can sleep on any surface, but can't walk if their socks are on inside out??
2. If you feed them, they'll just keep coming back for more!! Applies to stray animals as well as twins!!
3. Scientists have again found, in a new study, that coffee is good for you. Which is good news for exhausted parents because we all would still risk drinking it even if it was pure poison!!
4. Parenting twins is a lot like talking to an automated phone attendant. Hopeful at first, but then just end up repeating yourself over and over.
5. Thursday night to avoid bedtime, the twins proceeded to come up with an adorable new excuse. From the monitor I heard this, “Dad Dad, we are having a bed party and you’re invited, when will you arrive?”
