Good kids….our boys are honesty good kids. They listen (pretty) well, have always slept through the night, clean up their toys and enjoy giving hugs and kisses to mom and dad. We couldn’t have asked for better boys. With that said, we understand they are not perfect. However, we will want to adopt a girl one day, one who is diverse and will realize she was adopted, to give her a loving home with two big brothers to protect her. One toilet trained and out of a crib!!!!!!!! Just stating this as we have been asked a lot about another child lately.
1. As parents in quarantine we have been mindful and intentional in
helping the twins with conflict resolution skills. Instead of allowing them to cry or get upset, we have focused on asking them to show us what is wrong. Needless to say, they may or may not have pointed at us!
2. How long is it acceptable to leave the boys in a dog crate? 5 mins? 25 mins? Until bedtime? FYI they both got into the kennel all by themselves.
3. Me: On the phone
Twin 2: Dad…Da..Da….Dad…Dad….dad…..
Me. Yes buddy.
Twin 2: Penis!
Me: Yes, buddy I have one too. Oh %^&* where is your diaper?
4. Just a couple weeks ago I mentioned to my wife that seeing the boys ride our dogs around the playroom made me excited for the time that they jump on me and say go daddy go or do push-ups daddy. Well that time came this week. Let me tell you after 8 hours of that I become exhausted. Now the dogs and I are watching the kids play through the baby gate. Don’t judge me!
5. The twins love to climb on things, jump off, and seem not afraid of heights. I have now learned it is my job to shout “be careful” as they are air borne or right after they’ve fallen off.
